180 gallon tank with 10 year old oscar

I hope I don't come across negatively, but I am going to ask you the same question I have asked other members in the past when posting "14 inch" or more oscars.

I am genuinely interested in seeing a properly measured and recorded 14"+ oscar. I have read and heard about them but to date have not seen a single claim validated with evidence. I understand we all look at our own fish with bias. But for the sake of accuracy, are you able to measure the oscar, even if it is flat against the glass?
I ask this as again, I have gone rudimentary (see image below) in guesstimating the size of your fish and it does not appear to be 14".

I repeat, I hope I am wrong as I want to see and believe oscars get 14 inches or more.

Your fish does excel in 'girthiness'. So if you could weigh him as well that would be awesome.

Good heavens. He’s 13 2/3 inches to be exact. I measured him years ago. I’m not taking him out at his age to prove anything. Taking photos of tank taken at a slight angle and a fish slightly turned means nothing. Why do you care?

people acting like a 14 inches Oscar is a white whale. It’s big, but happens fairly often. Here is someone’s who was 10 and died. Between 14-15 inches.

I did notice that and even then a 12"O is nothing to turn your nose up at. it is a great fish especially with chunky width.
I just truly want to see a verified 14" oscar as I have in 20 year of looking never seen one. Like virgins and ufo's, I often hear about them but heave yet to see one.

I just posted a picture of one below. I’ve seen a few, including mine (who I did round up by 1/3 inch).

If the OP original image was truly lateral, and if the nose tip to tail didn’t overlap badly on 6 of the 7 images, I’d guesstimate closer to 12”, which is “about” 14” as the OP mentioned
The largest oscar recorded line caught in Florida was 3lb 8oz Unfortunately there was no length recorded, but that’s a big oscar!

The fish and tank are slightly angled and the fish is not at the front of the tank. Spacial reasoning tells us if things are set back they appear smaller. That’s why taking time to photo shop and measure length is inaccurate.

Ph is in the low to mid 7 range. Haven’t checked KH and GH in years. I change 70% of the water weekly.

Very good, thank you. Would also be interested in hearing about the Oscar's feeding habits over the years as far as frequency (daily, muliple times per day, skip a day per week, ect), and feeding amounts (untill full, until engorged, etc.).

I have measured wild oscars at 16" with my own hands... and I have sold & shipped plenty in the 12, 13 & 14" size regularly. They were measured exactly accurate within 1/16th of an inch. Oscars get big.. really big.

Very good, thank you. Would also be interested in hearing about the Oscar's feeding habits over the years as far as frequency (daily, muliple times per day, skip a day per week, ect), and feeding amounts (untill full, until engorged, etc.).

I feed him once daily for 5/7 days of the week.
