I have a school of rummynose tetras and noticed one of them had a white sludge on it. Given the sludge didn't look fuzzy, I was thinking it was bacterial in nature, so I ran a treatment with Maracyn-2. This didn't work, so now I'm wondering if I misdiagnosed it as bacterial when it was actually fungal in nature. What do you guys think should be my next steps?

The picture isn’t clear enough so I really can’t tell but I’d check and see if it’s Lymphocystis? It’s viral and not treated with medication.
Sorry the picture isn't very clear, it's hard to get a good picture. How would I check and see if it's lymphocystis? I don't think it is because it looks like a white sludge on the fish, not like a cyst and it doesn't look fuzzy. I'll try to get them into a jar so I can get a better picture without them moving as much.

Without a good picture it’s going to be hard to tell. I was just suggesting Googling pictures of fish infected with Lymphocystis to see if that possibly matches what you’re seeing. Lymphocystis Is also generally more common than bacterial infections and fungal break outs.

Did you add any new fish into that system recently?

Yes, I did add more rummynose tetras about 3 weeks ago, but none of them are showing any symptoms. Only the three old ones I had. I don't think it's lymphocystis because it looks nothing like what they have.

Here's some more pics I got, he's starting to get a little wobbly and slow. I'm just trying to save him or at least not have the others get wiped out. I just figured I'd treat the whole tank because there's a decent chance it spread.
