I have a 125 that I have not set up yet. I’ve been thinking about a Virginia natives tank. In Florida I had a great native tank with Sleeper Gobies, sword tails, flag fish, and mosquito fish.

Looking for suggestions. Tons of black nosed dace, sun fish, and chub around.

The tank is back drilled so I’ll either do a sump or

Enneacanthus gloriosus or chaetodon would be high on my list but you have some very cool Lepomis options too. I had a shoal of Lepomis gibbosus in a 150g for quite a few years and their color and behavior were incredible. Plus I could catch them in my backyard which was a bonus.

Here in Illinois we have quite a few options in Etheostoma with being caeruleum one of my favorites.

Hi- I have been in conversations with Virginia DWR and the State biologists about a native saltwater tank setup for a 350 octagon I have. After being sent in circles and ignored, I was finally left with just follow the fishing rules and don't return any fish to the water. What you have in your tank counts toward your daily possession limits and if the season closes you have to kill any fish that go out of season. You can eat them of course.

Welcome aboard.
Lol I probably would get fined not doing non of that.

Just don't keep any game fish that have a season, size, or possession limit. That leaves a lot of interesting fish still. I intend to keep croaker, perch, catfish, etc. Hoping to find some smaller fish I have never seen while fishing.
