Been thinking of building another bigger pond...12ft long 6 ft wide 3 ft tall. Instead of stacking 2x6s like a log cabin style, could I frame it like a house with 2x6 and space them every 8 inches and use timberlok lags in the corners tripling up the 2x6s on every corner?

Sure can… i did a 11’x7’x3’ with 2x4’s and 2 layers of 3/8” ply. Worked fine.

Did you build anything underneath it or just lay it on the floor with the bottom open and put a liner in it and be done?
I did 1 layer of heavy plastic as the floor. Highly recommend going further than that tho and using real underlayment material or a layer of foam insulation. After the typical house style walls i locked them all in with flat 2x4 on top changing directions each time to overlap and add more support. I did 2 or 3 layers of that and also 2 center cross braces.

Smart. My other ponds are log cabin style but such a pain in the ass trying to get 60-70 pieces of straight wood... did you put bulkheads on your liner?

On that tank no… but i have another liner tank with window i did. I cut around a quarter sized hole in the liner with an exacto knife then stretched it over a 1” bulkhead and ran as normal. Its just for an autodrip overflow drain so might need a bigger hole for larger pipes but that was a tip i was given that worked great for me to cut a smaller hole than needed and stretch it over the bulkhead a bit to keep it tight. Liner is 45mil epdm also.

Thats exactly what I just did i ended up building it today just drilled the plywood and 1 inch insulation i have in the pond and cut a small x in the liner and forced the bulkhead through
