Help with dying fish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have read about epsom salts being used in the food to help flush out any internal parasites. I have used epsom salts successfully, but for different reasons, such as bloat and a prolapse, so I can't say I have any experience treating parasites with it.

It may be worth a bit of reading on it, as perhaps it can help prolong the fish, until the real meds come.
Thanks!

If I remember right fish get saddle back but hard to truly know and tell w/o skin cultures and micro.

I doubt it is TB. It can just be a defect/deformity that may not interfere with the fish living a normal life. I hope they both make it. Please keep us posted.

Great, thanks dude! You’ve been really helpful, I’ll make sure to keep this thread updated with their progress

Update: they are currently at the end of their treatment and doing great! The larger one is actually starting o gain weight and started jumping out of the water to catch shrimp before it hits the water. They are both doing great and I’ve jumped from being uncertain if they will make it to trying to get them growing fast enough to go in my monster grow out tank! Thank you everyone for the information, you guys have saved the life of two fish. I will add a link below to a new thread I am making so that people can learn more about these fish since there isn’t a lot of info about people who properly take care of them (they will have a happy life in my 1500 gal don’t worry I have actually decided to have the tank mates around them so that they can thrive) can learn

Excellent. Very glad to hear it. Did you just do the General Cure, or did you also do a course of Expel-P?
