I’m glad to hear things are headed the right direction for you. It’s always amazed me regarding “the stranger on a train” phenomenon, identified by psychologist Zick Rubin, describes the tendency for people to share intimate personal information with strangers in fleeting, public, or enclosed settings (e.g., trains, planes, waiting rooms, or this case an aquarium forum). It is driven by the anonymity of the interaction, the unlikelihood of meeting again, and the lack of judgment from someone who doesn't know your social circle, while providing positive feedback and words of encouragement. Long story short it’s like telling all your problems to a bartender.

I've never heard of that. I need to look that up. It sounds interesting.
I mainly came here for advice on how to keep the tanks going without murdering my fish, but it turned out this was what I needed to jump start getting on the right track.
I have a small but very close friend group, and they are absolutely amazing people. They have been a significant support system through all of this, but despite their help and support, I was still having issues.
After reading all of the advice, do just the bare minimum to keep the tanks healthy, minimal feeding, keep a routine, I implemented those things into life. I start setting aside an hour a day for house keeping, if I don't finish it in that hour, it's okay. I started making dump and bake meals, so no chopping or mixing or extra dirty dishes. Bare minimum cleaning and feeding lol. I have now added a small exercise routine to my schedule, and add little things to my routine, not enough to make it overwhelming, just things I know I can do. I have actually been getting more done in the past few weeks than the last several months.

Photos of the plants. My pearl weed looks a little sad and pathetic, but I'm hoping it fills out well.
And a picture of a very angry Oscar who is NOT pleased with the plants in HER home lol.
Ignore the algae and the crusty tank rims.

Forgot to add, I ordered some smart grow lights for the plants too. They should be in by next week. And I didn't chop up my pothos yet. I'll work on that tomorrow.
Wish me luck! 😊
