Pond pumps, aerators, fountains

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Pretty tough to power a fountain using an air pump.

I hate to be that guy but are these two bots talking? Two new accounts only engaging in posts about these specific items?
They have several floating pond fountain options for different pond sizes, and some of them also include decorative spray designs and lighting features.

This especially reads like an AI crafted sales pitch. If I am wrong sorry.

Anyway a fountain like the big geyser type on that site are a bit much. Anything that circulates the water will accomplish the same benefits. Unless your pond is huge as soon as there is a little wind you will get sprinkled when trying to look at your fish if you have something like this in your pond. Most koi ponds I have seen had water sucked into an area with a filter then distributed back to the pond via some sort of small waterfall. Quite, classy, and just as effective as those geysers.

Common complaint. You should have installed it inverted; instead of spraying water up into the air, it would squirt air bubbles down into the water.

I think it's called an air fountain...

...and with numerous links to sites selling stuff...and not just in this thread, but many others as well.

My bot detector was buzzing also...but I am often that guy, so it was nice to see that I'm not alone in my heightened suspicions. This site has a real problem on its hands with those things; it's become tedious and wearisome.

I’ve been reading mixed opinions lately about pond aerators and wanted to hear what experienced keepers here think. Some people say a strong filter return and surface agitation are enough, while others recommend dedicated aeration year round, especially during warmer months. I keep seeing discussions about oxygen levels affecting fish activity and overall water stability, particularly in deeper ponds or heavily stocked systems. For those of you running koi or monster fish ponds outdoors, did adding extra aeration actually make a noticeable difference?
I was comparing a few different pond aerators recently while researching upgrades for my setup:

Not trying to buy blindly from ads, so I’d rather hear real-world experiences first. Do you think bottom diffusers, air stones, or floating systems work best long term? Also curious if anyone noticed improvements in algae control or fish behavior after increasing aeration.

Wow.

You have already asked this exact question in another thread. You were asked for information about your pond plans so specific answers could be given. You decline to provide the info so you got no answers.

Please do not clog up the site w duplicate posts. Answer the questions you get asked in the original thread so you can get specific info for your needs.

I like the solar units for extra aeration during the warmer hours of the day, but once the sun goes down, they stop working, and aeration .
On my small (500 gal) pond, I built a DIY protein skimmer that attched to a submerged matten pond filter for mechanical filtration for big chunks, and fractionated disolved organics 24/7. video below
the foam spewing out of the port to the ground, are disolved organic compounds that hinders disolved oxygen uptake by fish, and the unit also used the cascade over the rocks to promote oxygenation.
This small pond was able to comfortably support 2 koi, and 3 goldfish.
