Finding rocks and wood for your tank

Just curious how many of you guys like finding your own wood, rocks, other misc decorations to decorate your aquariums with. I went wandering around my mom's property today and found a couple interesting pieces. First was a rock that was just super badass so I cleaned it up and brought it...

    Critique my stock

Ok, so this stock list is purely hypothetical, I'm planning a 75g build soon and it would be nice to get opinions on whether the stock I've chosen is entirely compatible and leaves the fish with enough room. Stock list: 2x African butterfly fish 1x Gray african knife fish 1x P. Delhezi 1x...

    New to Bichirs

    Pleco's

Hey, sorry but I can only offer what experience I've had :/ hope it'll help. The only pleco I've kept is a regular gibby pleco he's around 3.5" right now and is being housed with my P. senegalus I've never actually seen him try to latch onto/rasp my poly. But I've heard the numerous stories...

    Gluing Rocks together

You could potentially just use some two part epoxy if you have any. You'd be able to blend colors if you're glueing rocks together, it might make it slightly more aesthetically pleasing.

polypterus and spiny peacock eel compatibility

Personally I think you'd be fine, if you're worried just make sure they're both well fed. On the subject of the eels not liking each other, I've seen plenty of peacocks do well with each other. They almost act like you said, loaches. I've even seen a tank with a little school of maybe 5-7...

    picky bichirs

Don't worry too much, stop feeding them for a day or two let him get just a little hungry, and try a little of what was suggested. It usually also helps to feed just before lights out. Polys are primarily nocturnal feeders so they're usually more comfortable eating when it isn't very bright.
