If you have it under a lid on your aquarium, it's probably too humid.

How?!?! I have this in my pond and it multiplies so fast we have to kill it... I had 3 plants and a week later i had like 10 and even more came after!!!

It's in a sump for my tank and has light

Either it doesn't have enough nutrients which would be awesome for you..or it hasn't got enough light/ the wrong light, or or or. Show us a pic of the sump?!

Test your water for nitrate and nitrite levels, what kind of lights are you using?

Mine look like that too.. there isn't enough iron in the water so you'll need an iron fertilizer
