In general frontosa grow slower. I have a mikula colony with a showpiece alpha male pushing around 13 to 14 inches which took 3 years to grow

Nice I have the same project also going on ..I picked up 24 in October at 3/4 inch. Their patterns are totally different from when I first got them till now ...3 to 4 inch currently

With the size of the fountain I would suggest going with something on the smaller side and slower growing. I would look for a sb paroon or black ear paroon. Another great shark cat which is often overlooked is a hammer cat. Where are you located? I am considering selling my leopard hammer cats...
