new house, new fishroom, 4,000 gallon tank, 1,000 gallon tank, many others and ponds,

This is awesome! Do you still have those 6 clown loaches you bought from me a couple years back? I'd feel a lot better about having to sell them knowing they're living there, haha. A lot of those tanks look familiar too. I'm guessing you cleaned out the Cleveland Aquarium Adventure when it...

Has anyone tried more than one flagtail?

My first one wouldn't even allow other silver fish in his tank. I got a second one and tried keeping them together a couple times, but surprisingly the much smaller one was the aggressor.

    Under substrate... Substrate?

Peat is sometimes used to make water softer/more acidic (although it can also be added to the filter if not used with plants). Organic potting soil is sometimes used for plants. If you aren't growing plants, than you'd be making a mess for no reason

    Sturgeon

You would need to know what species of sturgeon they are to really know care requirements.

EBJD and Flagtail Porthole Cats-PU/Meet-Central Ohio (Urbana or Columbus)

Yes, that's right, a FREE electric blue JD. The catch is, this guy was brought in to the store where I work about 2 months ago. He was being kept with Africans and came in with no fins and looked like he hadn't eaten in weeks. I just took him home to give him a chance at recovering, but I don't...

2 Sterlet Sturgeon PU or Meet Central Ohio (43078)

2 sterlet sturgeon available. One is about 6" and missing one eye, but otherwise healthy. The other is about 10" and in perfect shape. Will max out at about 30". Would make good fish for koi or goldfish pond. Asking $40 for the smaller, $75 for the other or $100 for both, but make an offer. Pick...

    DIY 45 gallon tub pond

If you notice the pitchers getting really full of bugs, stuff cotton balls in them. If they get too full the bugs will start eating through them and the pitchers will rot. Also, keep this updated with how the pitcher does. They are usually from very nutrient poor soils, so I'm curious how all...

    Fish and The Extended Phenotype

Learning may have a small part in this behavior, but I would be willing to bet that if a baby cichlid/sunfish were removed from a nest before it even hatched and then raised, it would still instinctually know how to build a nest when the time came despite never having a chance to learn from its...

220g Tempered Glass All Around...Good or Bad??

Actually, it seems like mostly larger tanks have tempered glass, usually just the bottom pane. Most mass produced tanks like All Glass/Aqueon that are around 50 gallons or larger seem to have a tempered bottom
