220g Tempered Glass All Around...Good or Bad??

I acquired this tank a few months back. When I inquired at the local distributor I was told that all panes are tempered glass. The only plate glass are the top braces. I'm currently cleaning it and inspecting the silicone even though it held water for 8 years without a single leak until the day I got it. Now I am having second thoughts setting it up inside the house because I know that tempered glass shatters into a thousand pieces without warning unlike plate glass which develops a crack before collapsing. I really want to set it up inside but if you advise against it...in the garage it goes. What do you think? Thanks.

Bump. Anybody else has an all tempered glass tank like this? Is it ok or I'm just being paranoid? Thanks.

i know tempered glass is alot stronger. Really does it make a difference? If it was plate glass and cracked you would be very fortunate to catch it or have the time to do anything about it.

I heard the same thing from my contractor when he saw my 200G...

My contractor talk to a tank maker here and said they never use tempered glass for the reason its shatters into a million pieces...

So where as regular glass a tank may crack and leak, tempered glass wont crack, it'll just shatter and spill all the water out in 2sec rather than possibly slowly leaking...

Aren't most smaller tanks tempered? I thought tempered glass was way stronger then plate glass.
Actually, it seems like mostly larger tanks have tempered glass, usually just the bottom pane. Most mass produced tanks like All Glass/Aqueon that are around 50 gallons or larger seem to have a tempered bottom

Yes, tempered glass is stronger in theory... but as my contractor told me... if for example some one accidently bumps into your tank with a hard object on a tempered tank, instead of just cracking or chipping, it could just straight up shatter into a million pieces...

Where as with regular glass... even if it gets knocked, it would more likely crack or chip, but not actually shatter...

As far as I know all tanks sold in Taiwan are tempered glass. Even my 310gal. I would say go for it.
