i had the same problem the best way to deal with it is to seperate... i put another big fish in with them but the gt took on the other fish aswell so your best bet is to separate so choose your fish or replace him with a big female gt :)

well the tail will have a thin strip of white/orangeon the edge of the tail or they have a more sloped head to males are more rounded ... thats what ive learnt

put the male convict in and not the female... as others have said they will become the breeding pair and your jds will just hide and get beatin up :)

ok got a male around 16cms and a female around 8cms how would i get these two to breed i have put them in thier own tank he just mouthes her away put them in the community tank same thing i have tried a few females at different sizes for a while now and same thing happens ?? any suggestions ?
