    Whats wrong with my Lyonsi?

Nitrate <10ppm Nitrite 0 GH 150 Chlorine 0 KH 120 PH 7.2 Ammonia 0 Tap comes out at about 7.2 to 7.4 I have a strong feeling that the added dust from construction along with the stress (noise, extra movement, etc definitely has something to do with this. As far as any other symptoms... the...

    Whats wrong with my Lyonsi?

Thanks for the heads up! I figured with weekly water changes and the drip I'd be in ok shape (ran the same setup before without the drip system) , but I'll grab a new emitter on Monday and bump it to 2gph... doubt that will equal much of a change in my monthly bill. On a side note I just got...

The insanity has begun... My 345 SA/CA Build thread

Thank you for the compliment! If it works as tank covers then I guess its doing its job, however if you ever plan to rebuild it, please be sure to share. I found with tanks it's really more about time and patience then it is about skills; don't get me wrong, skills definitely help but time...

    350 Gallon Tank/Fish Room Overhaul

...Subbed Awesome project, digging everything I've seen so far, lots of planning and patience. Keep it up and make sure to keep us posted! One suggestion: you mentioned rocking the stand to make it look continuous with the wall. I would definitely suggest using Hardie board or green board vs...

    FX5 long term review anyone?

I have 2 of them... Been running one for a little over 6 years and the other for a little under (bought them a few months apart). For me they have been excellent, other than normal maintenace the only time I've ever had to do anything to either one of them is replace one of the top filter lid...

Pictures are worth a thousand words but my bet is that you'll be fine if it's really just a scratch.

    Hiding heaters and background

Black heaters on a black background always works for me, a 3D background is definitely cool but like you said, it can be expensive. I'm assuming you'll be using a cansiter and not a sump, if thats the case, there's always the option of in line heaters. Good luck and make sure to post pics when...

    Need recommendations....

They're not fancy, don't have any special gadgets, are relatively cheap, seem pretty tough and I've always had good results with Aqueon Pro heaters.

The insanity continues... My 345 SA/CA re-build thread

Thank you for the compliment, as far as plants up top go, I'm going to try to keep it simple: The large areas will house Pothos, Philodendron and maybe a Peace Lily or two. The small hanging pots will probably be relegated to smaller flowering plants and spices (not sure which ones yet).

The insanity continues... My 345 SA/CA re-build thread

Wow... so its been forever since I made an update. Hopefully I'll be able to fill you all in on the quick and dirty and get this thread back on track. So; it's been about 7 months since the last update and there have been a few changes. Life has been busy, couple that with a loss of an...

    Vacuum Cleaner for Fish Tank

From your description: "leaves the water in the tank" I beleieve you're talking about this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003C5U2SU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_XBvzAb0SPBKKQ For a water change however; you'll want the Python as listed above or the Aqueon equivalent.

Thanks!... yeah, wanted to tone it down a bit at the new place. Plus the exposed brick wall is kind of cool to have back there, although I have debated adding some deco. I bought a "no fishing" sign and still hadn' put it up, lol. On a side note: Wow, hadn' realized it'd been this long since...

    "Gooseneck" style lighting options...

Don't see why you couldn't use that, it's an E27 so it is in fact a standard bulb size. Make sure to post some pics when you're done!
