feeding issues

I just got a ctenopoma yesterday I waited until today to see if he’d eat I tried pellets first (carnivore pellets) he instantly spit them out. I then tried tilapia at first he was just swimming right by it then he took a chomp and spit it out. I tried krill and brine shrimp spit it out again...
