Today is a big day for me.
after some months of waiting for the dry season to be over. i still have enough water in the pond. 8 feet in the deep end.
I really wanted to wait so im not stuck with a dry hole with dead fish.
I have stocked the pond with feederfish in the past months and the seem to be doing fine , I see more fish every day.
Grass is starting to grow near the pond so i feel in a few months time it will be all green around the water.
The only problem I have seen is the water itself is a light green.
cant see much more then a few feet when im snorkling with the gambusias.
anyway here are the pics of the first 13 yes lucky 13 tropical gar from my breeding experiment last year.
I kept these with feeder fish and did not feed them any artificial feed at all , so they are used to hunt for food.
I harvested them from the Hapa at the tilapia farm in the morning bagged them and took them to my pond (about 30 minutes away)
My wife took the pictures of me releasing the fish.
within minutes they were all over the pond. 120 feet away from where i released them.
I understand that many would like to see more timely updates but there is not much movement on a weekly basis.
as soon as there is some news though I will post again.
I am looking for a good airation system which is not too expensive to buy and run.
and hope to install lights soon as well.
