I agree completely. I did not intend to sound like that was a good idea. Looking back at the post it looks that way. A betta needs a 10 gallon IMO. My rescued betta (Living in a clear cup in my little sisters classroom when I went to go pick her up. I tripped out and ended up leaving with the betta lol noone saw .... He is in a 10 gallon now with a sponge filter and tons and tons of bamboo plants which I think help filtration and I rotate some females through but he just seems to want to beat them up.

you need at least 6 females to one male and even then it's iffy with betta's and obviously 7 betta's wont work in a 10g so you're best off keeping him alone, or maybe an african dwarf frog or 2 and him.

at the op some small plants and a shrimp or 2 would work, but that's not likely waht you were hoping to put in it.
