I have one more question about aquariums specifically in terms of housing a peacock bass. Do you guys think that 1/4" glass would be thick enough or do you think that a peacock bass could accidentally break it when it starts getting bigger. and in case it matters the tank dimensions are 72"x30"x18"

If it's tempered glass maybe

i wouldn't be so worried about the fish breaking the glass as i would the water..

alright, I am hopefully going to have it built for me soon by a manufacturer so I guess I could ask for 3/8" But I was under the assumption you only needed 1/4" for tanks 18" tall? Anyone ever had experience with a fish breaking a tank with its body?

yes.. when i was younger i had oscar break a 10 and a 30 of mine.. im not going to lie both tanks were to small for the fish

1/4" is a common thickness for shallow tanks in the Philippines! Thicker is always better though!

my tanks made of 12mm glass which i think is just under 1/2 and inch, no issues yet *knock on wood* and ive got pbass silver aro and RTC in there!!
