i went to one of my lfs, and saw a 10gal tank with 4 aro's in it. 2 were half dead, 1 was stuck to the overflow bulkhead, and 1 was prestine. i couldn't stand to see a baby of this size go to waste with the other 3 so i had to grab it. i've cared for aro's for a good amount of years n have some big boys myself, but never had one this small. anyone ever have any problems with aro's this tiny? i can't believe how small it is. the lfs said they had it eating mini krickets but i can't be going to the lfs every day jus for this 1 species. so my question is:

anyone ever get there micro silvers on pellets this young? or blood worms? cut up market shrimp? whats your suggestion on what to feed this lil guy. thanks

i really really dont wanna start on guppies. annoying to buy all the time and in my experience, cause dropeye at a young age.

Does the aro still have it sack? If yes, don't worry about it until the sack is gone. If its gone already, try some brine shrimp, black worms, and plankton (but make sure you pre-soak it and remove any hard parts).

I had one with a sack over 15 years ago, and I fed it brine for about a week after its sack was gone, then some black worms, also blood worms then on to plankton. After month or two fed the aro some food sticks, krill and meal worms without the head(pincers).

Good luck on the baby aro and for stepping up to save it! :headbang2

my new lil dude, IS A PELLET EATER!!! woot, that was my worst fear that he wouldn't take any. my 18incher does NOT and NEVER has eaten a pellet in its life. only when i trick it by stuffin it in shrimp. oh how happy i am. thanks guys

oh that is sooo great that you have your TINY arow eating pellets.. i think he will be your lucky charm arow.. as they say from chinese proverbs... your saving this little baby is wonderful and wish you the best until he is growing and thriving.. don't forget pictures.

i use frozen blood worms and brine shrimp and its worked for me...only lost 1 out of 10 of baby aros and the biggest when they came in is normally 1.5" to 2"...so give it a try
