1/6hp pump to much?

Some perspective on to much power. I had a pump that could do 2000 GPH after head lose and piping into my 220. However I did use UGJ system to distribute the flow evenly across the tank. the pump was rated @ 3000gph @ 10ft I had it @ 5ft with fittings so I figure it was closer to 2000 at the tank.
 
Try a Quiteone pump. They are pretty quite and powerful. That's what I'm running on my pond.
 
If you are looking to save money, and buy a great pump that does a lot of water movement plus high efficiency look into alpine pumps. I have the 3000 gph model and it is more efficient, and just as quiet as smaller quiet one pumps. Plus they have 3 year warranties. And they are a lot cheaper if you know where to look. I think the way I am going to go is

1.) Quiet One 3000
2.) ViaAqua 2600
3.) 2x Maxi-Jet 1200 for more circulation.


what does everyone think of this?
