1 "big" heater vs 2 "small" ones

Two is better than one....I am used to owning larger tanks ranging from 100-180....I always keep two heaters in each tank....Ebo-Jager 200watt....yeah baby.....Come to think of it...At one point, I kept three 200(or 250) watters in my 180....Even with a sump heater, I always had one hidden in the tank....Well anyways, more is better....

I have two heaters from 55 gallons doing a fine job of heating my 250 gallon..in fact one of them never even turns on because I can't get them to synchronize correctly.

The way I have it right now only one turns on and not the other but if I turn the other one up even just one notch then that one turns on but not the first.....:nilly:

you could probably get them to synchronize better if they are both the same brand......as is one of mine is just a back up in case the other stops working....it also helps get the temp back to normal after a water change.

though I will note the heater in my house is set at 77 not 67............I must be cold blooded.;)
