1 "big" heater vs 2 "small" ones

Two is better than one....I am used to owning larger tanks ranging from 100-180....I always keep two heaters in each tank....Ebo-Jager 200watt....yeah baby.....Come to think of it...At one point, I kept three 200(or 250) watters in my 180....Even with a sump heater, I always had one hidden in the tank....Well anyways, more is better....

I have two heaters from 55 gallons doing a fine job of heating my 250 gallon..in fact one of them never even turns on because I can't get them to synchronize correctly.

The way I have it right now only one turns on and not the other but if I turn the other one up even just one notch then that one turns on but not the first.....

you could probably get them to synchronize better if they are both the same brand......as is one of mine is just a back up in case the other stops working....it also helps get the temp back to normal after a water change.

though I will note the heater in my house is set at 77 not 67............I must be cold blooded.
