I just thought I would share what I got on my desk at work. Here is my little 1 gallon planted tank.

It has been running for a few weeks and is showing a lot of growth. Yeah, I got to trim down my Magenta.

-I do 50% water changes 2 times a week.
-DIY CO2
-Fertilize with FloraPride

I am waiting for it to mature a little more. At that point, I think I am going to add a couple Amano Shrimp.

very cool........ where did you get the bowl? never seen it before......... very clean......

I got it from a wedding. It was part of the centerpiece. LOL

it's really cool, does it have any filtration unit?

No filtration. Just water changes. Once I put the shrimp and/or fish, Ill do changes more frequently depending on how the plants and animals do with the new bio-load.

There is literally no water movement in the tank except for the small stream of O2 the plants give off and some bubbles from the CO2. There is a lot of pearling as well which is really nice.

Nice. I tried that but I got an algaebloom. I think I had too much lightning.

Yeah.. too much light will do that. Im hoping mine wont do the same. Im hoping that the Amano's will take care of the algae for me as well.

How did you set up the co2? Id love to do something like that but wouldnt know how to set up the co2 imput without a filter

co2 may be too much for such a small body of water....... you would have to trim back every few days depending on the plant...... i would just throw in a rusty nail for Iron....... a couple shrimp and your good to go........

I just use an airstone. I know its waisting a lot of CO2, but I seem to be getting good results. Just enough of it is desolved into the water. You dont want anything too effecient for that small of a tank like oddballer said.

The first plant I put in was from my home aquarium that does not have CO2. When I put it in the Nano pre CO2, it looked OK. After I added the CO2, the green came out and it started pearling a few hours later.

Thanks!! The pearling is what I look for. It makes me feel like Im doing something right when I see that.
