Uh-huh, just as I suspected, ask for smart-comments here and BLAM! Damn its fun isnt it? 
As far a keeping my weed in there man, its WAYYYYYY too far away for that. On that note, I forgot to post a picture of this monstrosity, cereal bowl

Whatever critter you put in there, it's going to be paranoid with that tank stand...That's just one step under a blender for a fishbowl.

Gold fish need a bigger home then a 1 gallon. Maybe you should get a school of pacus maybe 8 or 12? ya!

2. junk bowl for misc. "fishie" stuff that collects. Suction cups, airstones. That's what mine is doing right now.
Actually, in all seriousness, I like the look of green algea so I put a snail, a Java fern and two guppies in mine and put it in the window on the sill. One side grew the coolest looking green algea and it looked the bomb!
