I am trying to get some vynle hose that wont crimp/kink when curving. I am trying to hook my fx5 to a coral life 12x UV with 1". Then the FX5 stock hose from the UV to the tank.

Thanks

I ask becasue I use something like that on my pond filter and i have a hard time getting it not to drop any with that spiral on the hose using a hose clamp.

I never had luck with the spiral rib spa hosing either. It always dripped/leaked.

I would probably just use standard vinyl tubing from the hardware store. Otherwise, you might be stuck with ordering it online.

I dont mind ordering something...the stuff at the hardware store (at least the lowes I wint too) had the thin wall stuff that just flattens out.

I was thinking about the eheim 2262 hose...is that a true 1" ID? That would probably be costly but if I had to I would.

Hey op, have you thought of hard piping with PVC? also most lhs carry cry thick grade heavy duty hose, its where the toliet plumbing fixtures are, they will have the cheap clear tubing then above that on a shelf or where ever they will have the thick stuff but its expensive!

I only need about a foot or two...I didnt see anything that would have worked at my lowes. I thought about PVC or other things but I would rather use one hose and 2 clamps to minimize falure points....and flexability when it comes time to clean the filter or replace a bulb.

Understand. You don't have extra hose that came with the unit? I cut 2'+ of mine before install, less pipe less head more gph.

I would love to use some of the FX hose and will probably have extra...thing is it has those rubber ends on each side glued on...the extra hose will not have that. Without that i cant clamp it to a barbed fitting with out it leaking (like the spiral stuff). I plan to hook the stock fx hose to the output of the UV with that rubber end...so i just need to go from the FX to the UV now.
