beside i don't think i will have them for years and years... you know hows that goes with most of us fish keeper lol....[/QUOTE]

It's kinda sad to hear that, as Cichla don't really begin to shine until they are a year or two old. IMO the older they get the better they look

so if a 3" kel goes for $xxx then a 6" orion should goes for $xxx? I wish there is a sticky of just pictures of each type small and large pb so that a noob like me could have some insight on the subject. sorry so many question when it comes to pb.

I may change my mind if they color up real nice like some of the pics i seen or have my own house with a monster tank. the latter is not going to happen...anytime soon.:(

i have some ocell, orion in the grow out tank, would that make a diff?

Yes, then I might get the kel, especially if the others are in a grow out. They will all be able to be housed together much sooner.

I would get kelberi over the tems. One-because i like a mature kelberi's color/patterns more. 2- the kelberi wont get nearly as large as the tems therefore they are much easier to house for life.

Hands up for kel! I prefer their spottings n bright yellow base. Tems r tank busters, intolerant of other big tankmates, n dull base colour, thou they also hv very nice spottings especially on their head.

Over my side, 1 Kel is worth 5-6tems! So ur rate of 1:2 seems the Tems weigh quite heavily.

+1 for Kelberi. Temensis are nice pbass but I think for appearance sake Kelberi tend to be more colorful. I maybe biased though cuz I'm the hunt for some Kelbs myself just at a decent price :/
