1 month no water change.

They will be fine. Some people never do wc just add. Not recomended though. I would measure out what your wife should feed ans do so twice a week . Fish in nature only eat on an average of twice a week anyways.

I used to do a W?C every 3 months on one of my tanks, never had a problem.Cam[QUOTE

On my 180 I change the water monthly,at least 50% been doing it this way for a few years now.

I used to do no water changes for months at a time in a 55 gallon with 2 10 inch Oscars in it. About once per month i would do a 5 gallon bucket worth just to clean the top layer of gravel. Fish lived fine like that. This next part sounds kinda cruel but Im sure many Oscars deal with this. as they outgrew their tank the bigger one was getting a nasty case of hole in the head. I turned everything off except the filter, no power head, not bubler, not lights, no heat. I didnt feed them. For the longest time I ignored them completely except for looking for someone to take them. Finally after about 3 months like this I turned the lights back on and the fish looked better then ever before. Hole in the head gone, no trace of it. colors vibrant, happy fish. I turned everything back on and a week later I found a chinese restaurant to take them. In my mind I think alot of people overmaintain aquariums, especially really establised ones.

I dont trust anyone feeding my fish while I am away, even my wife. I would do a water change before I leave and let them go without food. they will do fine

I would be so paranoid about those pricey asian aros and motoros. Never thought about adding an auto-waterchanger to those tanks? You already got sumps on some of your tanks and it's pretty easy to install through a sump. All you really need is a place for the old water to go like a floor drain or you can irrigate your plants or lawn. Then you can feed the aros like normal.
