oh yea i have another question what would be the best diet for a gt that size he's only about an inch...i have a lot of blood worms hopefully he could eat those, but i want him/her to have variety, what type of food is best and what brands in your opinon are the best? i know he's going to be a little cramped for a while so i want to give him the best i can while he's in there

thanks again,
louie
Blood worms, earth worms, shrimp, beefheart, and various pellets. Feed him nonstop, and keep up with the water changes. :)

that's good like i said earlier we're pretty well stocked with blood worms for our other tank. how many times a day should i feed him and what type of pellets are best for a small GT?

They are omnivorous and will accept all types of food and relish anything live.

I fed mine hikari complete(smallest size) and also tetra color bit when they are still under 3 inches.

Mine grow slow, only 3.5 inches per year from eggs.

i appreciate all of your help but unfortunately the little guy passed away this morning. i appreciate all of your help. i guess i'm going to go with a breeding pair of cons unless you guys have another suggestion for what i should put in my 29. thanks again for all the advice.

Louie

oh and he didn't pass in my tank but at the lfs that was holding him for me they said they just found him there floating they are currently checking their water to see if they can determine what the cause was i hope they let me know so i won't risk buying there again eventhough every fish i bought there was fine except for a few discus that passed the first night
