10,000k too much for amazon swords in a 75g?

10,000k should be fine for all freshwater plants. but it sounds like your misunderstanding the Kelvin rating. it's a measurement of its color temperature, not the intensity of its brightness

Exactly. Higher kelvin is better for salwater tanks.

Yeah, i was a lit confused cuz they all say, great for coral and all this other salt stuff and wasn't sure if it would be okay for freshwater. Thanks guys.

One more question, so the 10000k bulb would be better for my plants than the 5500k bulb?

i think its all personal preference when dealing with bulbs from 6500-10,000k. the 10000k will have a more crisper pure white color that i like. 6500k is too yellow. or you could always mix, having one of each. the plants wont mind as long as your within 6500-10000k

There is nothing in that article about color temperature, as far as I can tell. 10k is referring to 10,000 lumens, not 10,000 kelvin (color temp), and color temperature is not a measuring of light intensity.

Bluer (ie actinic) bulbs produce somewhat less PAR than bulbs of cooler color temperatures http://sites.google.com/site/tfivetesting/par, but I don't think there is any data to show a significant difference in plant growth (or light output) between 6500k and 10000k, or values in between. I don't know why people believe that range is ideal, considering that sunlight is around 5500k.

10000k generally appears white or slightly blue. Lower is yellower.

Well HIS thread is called 10000k. Thats kelvins. That 10k bulb is better for your plants. The only time you want a Lesser kelvin aka a yellow or at the bottom red(red is about 1000 - 2500k) is for flowering.

May i also mention i dont know crap about underwater plants and thier flowering stage. I assume some do flower/fruit.

Also, consider that plants need a change in daylight to affect flowering. Usually less daylight triggers fruiting/flowering.
