Yes, but they only do it when they are stressed and/or scared, and it can be deadly depending where and how they do it. This fahaka has never puffed, and I've had him since he was about 4''.
 
Hey would he get along with my 7" Mbu 6"red devil and a 9"green terror in my 150g tank??? if it will ill buy it from you but i live in the bay area so we would have to arrange something..

Besides, I think you have enough on your plate with a Mbu in a 150G ;)
