so i live in west virginia and will be soon having a 10 day vacation to texas (against my will) and im worried about my fish.
they are : silver arowana, senegal *****ir, clown kinfe, juvenile peacock bass, redbelly piranhas , a community tank and several others. Any suggestions on what i can do to make this any easier? should i risk having a family friend feed them?

thanks for the support

well do you know anyone else that lives near you and highly dependable to take care of them for the 10 days? like someone with fish knowledge...not one that when you get back home and find all your fish skinny as a bone and mostly floating around all white...ok lol

i know like furealz lol  we could helped you out for free :D seriously...anytime a fish is in need of help us MFKer's are at the case to help those! LMBO! but surely he must know someone in his area to take care of them...if not then he should just try to beg his way out of the trip to texas and stick to his fish! :) i mean like why would anyone be told to go on the trip against his own will without anyone caring for their aquatic pets!? :screwy: people these days are just crazy and should get a slap on the wrist for making someone go if they didn't want to go

You can start feeding the preds more often, a week before you leave to bulk them up. In the wild, predators are opportunistic feeders and will eat as much as they can, when they can, because they do not know when their next meal is going to be.They would easily survive 10 days w/o eating. Make sure your changing their water alot when you do this, and change a larger amount right before you leave. They should be fine. Mine just took a 5 day fast last week.

I would put the food in portions each in separate containers and leave directions on how to feed the fish. This way, unless you get an idiot to feed them, nothing will go wrong.
