i was a stealth heater. i emailed the company haven't heard from them yet. now the hard part finding another dovii

I think this is the 2nd stealth heater I heard about blowing up like that. I recall the last one shattered the glass of the tank too? Was it the new style stealth with the light on the temp dial red when on heating green when not?

Check with the vendors. Dovii are not hard to get if you are willing to pay for shipping.

I thought the exact same thing. I was hoping it wasnt another marineland stealth heater like in the other thread and then whamo!! it was. I suggest the eheim jager.

That really sucks. I've heard about a few other stealth heaters exploding, two of which busted the side of the tank. At least the room isn't flooded.

marineland shatter proof IS the stealth heater

I'm sorry for your loss. I agree with Jason_S, stealth heaters are much better and more reliable!

I would do this too, I use Stealth heaters in my tanks. They are accurate and made of black plastic.

how ironic

yeah, I had a stealth heater burn out too . . . tank water got up to 90-degrees or more, and when I pulled that puppy out, it was cracked and warped

sorry about the fish, that sux . . .

I too had heard a lot about the stealth heaters. I still wound up with a few that I just got on sale tho hoping they changed them up. There was the old kind with no light on them. Then I thought they started putting lights on the side of them...can someone confirm this? Because the ones I got have green/red lights on the actual temp dial. I was hoping this was a 3rd model....I was hoping they made some changes from all these past problems.

OP...can you tell us what your heater was like light/no light wise?
