Well, didn't get any local calls, and my shop didn't have the room to take in, so he got dumped back in the river!

He was wild caught & been that way most all of it's life. I don't see the problem.

Dude you just incriminated yourself. :screwy:

:banhim:It's people like you who mess things up for the responsible hobbyists. I'm sure you didn't know any better.

Never release an aquarium kept fish back into the wild.

Not something you should of posted i would of said i gave it to a friend realeasing a fish back into the wild after it was kept in captivity is very illegal and the reason why fish like canna are banned

I know it doesn't seem like a big deal letting a fish go thats native to the area but once you put it in a tank with other fish that are not native you've possibly exposed the fish to Foreign parasites and bacteria which if realeased into our Eco system can have some SERIOUS affects

Foreign Parasites and diseases can criple an Eco system thats never seen them before

jesus christ chill out i had no idea it was that bad just thought it was going back where it belongs. All my fish have been in my tank for quite a while and treated for parasites/disease twice from past issues so i don't see it ruining the hobby. Lesson learned my bad.

You are a horrible person and will perish in hell for this...

:grinno:

But seriously, no big deal man. As long as you learned your lesson.

You can catch those in lakes around Austin. He didn't release an invasive species-- he released a native species, probably in the same body of water he caught it in. I get y'alls point about possible parasites/bacteria, but the bottom line is ______________.

(it *most likely* went back to its natural home)
