10 gal "dinosaur" tank stock ideas?

I didn't think a band would fit in my tank... lol As tempting as a grow-out sounds, like I said, my other tank already has a 6"RBP, I'm not feeding her any "gourmet" meals (aka expensive fish)... I had to chuckle earlier, my 2 female bettas ganged up on both female ghost shrimp that were almost as big as they are and killed them. I was hoping to get a feeder colony started between the shrimp and the gups... brats. Both shrimp had eggs too. I've never had much luck with Triops, my fiance was wondering if he could use them as fish food though.
