10 gallon oddball ideas?

Oh I know. The clown knife is in a 75 gallon, upgrading to a 120 gallon once he hits 7”. Right now he’s around 5”

I've never kept one, but people seem to keep them with anything large and not very aggressive. I have seen them in a tank with atabpo pike cichlids, so maybe even some aggressive fish? IDK. It will outgrow even a 120g eventually. Why don't you make another thread about it?

Shelldwellers, Telmatochromis, oddball livebearers and other killies (ex. Xiphophorus Montezumae) Elassoma sunfish, Microctenapomas, the smaller hatchetfish, pencilfish, headstander and SA upside down catfish, pea puffers, a Julidiochromis transcriptus group (maybe). You could keep a lone Krib or convict, as a wet pet, but it's a little small for a pair.
A clown knife would grow longer than the 10g LOL.

As someone who specializes in nano tanks, I can tell you most of those fish are way too big for a 10.

I've only kept, from that list a Krib, mollies, and I think that's it in a 10, but I have seen others keep everything I mentioned quite well. you may know more than me, that's fine.

Out of your other list I would only be comfortable with the elassoma, pea puffers, kribs, and killies.

Some of the pencilfish don't top 2", same with the hatchets and upside down cats. Shelldwellers don't break 2 inches either, for the most part, I've never seen anyone keep them in anything much bigger than that . there is a breeder who told me he keeps a group of transciptus in a 10g and they breed,when I asked him if I could keep a pair in a 10.

From the suggestions given already, I would avoid the bristlenose pleco and convict. The rest would probably be okay. The transcriptus would work for for a long time, maybe life, they don't get much larger than 2". The Julies are rock dwellers. Shelldwellers like N. multifasciatus would be a better option though and are lots of fun to keep. That would be my suggestion

Convicts, from what I've read need a 20g
