Alright so I looked on FB marketplace and Craigslist and made a list of how much it would cost to buy everything needed for a 10 gallon. (Tank, Lid, Light, Filter) and it cost around $42, I can finally make a dream betta tank that I've had in my mind for months!

The only problem is: I have $83. Not too bad, right?

Well, I was planning to buy a 75 gallon off letgo for $100, borrowing money from my dad. I want the 75 to go first, But I'll end up at $0 for the 10 gallon, plus, the 75 only brings two canister filters, the tank, and the stand.

There is a solution for my problem though, and that is to sell my smallest tanks. I have 2 1 gallon tanks and 2 2.5 gallon tanks. I want to sell the 1 gallons for $10 each and the 2.5 gallon tanks for $15 each.

sorry for the mess, my writing is getting super lazy as of late.

Here are my questions:
1) What should I buy/sell/do first?
2) If I don't sell my smaller tanks, which should I buy? the 75 or the 10?

Please feel free to ask questions of your own, and as always, thank you in advance.

I think you should just buy the 10 gallon if you want to build a betta tank just because it'll cost a lot cheaper and you'll be able to pay for the stuff you need in one, but if you want the 75 gallon, idk if you'll be able to sell those smaller tanks. People could just get a vase instead of a 1 gallon or 2.5 gallon tank. That being said, you might not have to buy an aquarium. You could just get a tub and build a balcony better pond. And if you buy the 75 gallons aquarium, won't you not have money to buy the fish or the things(plants/substrate) needed for the tank? If you want the 75 gallon, you should save up more and buy it later. But then again you could do whatever you want so..... Just do what you'll think will work out!

Also if you live in the US, i keep seeing threads about Petco’s $1 a gallon sales with tanks up to 75G at times...

So if you save for a while you could own a brand new 75G for $75 bucks and slowly get the budget for everything else...

"the 75 only brings 2 canister filters" Depending on what those filters are you may or may not be able to flip them and make a lot more then what you paid. Like of it was 2 fx5, doubtful but there's always a chance. 2 cascade 1,000 and you could sell one for $75 and keep the other.
You like bettas eh? Think of the betta sorority you could do in a 75!

Buy a plastic tub for the betta, breed and sell bettas, don't spend more than 20 on the tubs (see my thread on tub ponds in the pond section).

What's up with you and breeding bettas? Lol. If you love bettas so much then go talk to majerah1 on aquariumforum. She and I are friends.

Breeding Bettas is so easy that if you keep them and want a little money than there's no excuse to not do so.

Would you rather buy a betta that was mass bred in Thailand then shipped here or buy a betta that was bred down the street by someone who cares about his fish?
