Thanks for all the reccomendations on my previous post. So I have just set up a 10 gallon tank few days ago. I am using a cycled filter along with plants and rocks from a cycled tank.
I have added 10 Norman's Lampeye Killifish and so far they are a healthy and happy bunch. They readily accept food and show no signs of discomfort.
I was thinking of adding either a bottom feeder, or a single, larger centerpiece fish.
What would you reccomend ? Any tips ? TIA.
(Planning to do water changes weekly and around 50%).

yeah
You said you could get pygmy corries? Think that would be a good choice.
yeah they are available! a bit on the expensive side tho. Can I get like 3 now and get 3 later ? Or is there a bigger more solitary creature I could get ?
Would love Pygmy Cories tho they look adorable.

Some of the more orthodox might cringe, but that should work. It's how I built up my bronze and albino corries between my being kinda poor and my lfs rarely having many left by the time I get there.
Bigger and more solitary is harder, like a small weird ambush predator would be cool, when you saw it and when it wasn't eating your killifish.

Heh guess you are right. I will see If I can get my hands on a whole shoal. My LFS usually doesnt make me pay the full price for fish so...
Though something kind of stuck to my mind. Some of the Pygmy Cories have different patterns. Is that normal ? Are they the same species ? They pretty much hang out together at the LFS and I see no other major differences.
Also would MAYBE shrimp work ? they are so cheap in my LFS, 30 cents for one. I could buy in bulk.

Ghost shrimp are awesome. Either you get a clean up crew or a good meal for your fish. Not a 100% on which you would get in your tank, but either way. It would not surprise me if there were multiple species of pygmy corries that tend to get collected and bred together. Apparently in the wild most schools are mixed species, some not even corries.

I’m pretty sure dwarf cories have a few different species.
Shrimp should mix fine with them as well.
