10 gallon st0cking

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
A 10 gallon is too small for a danio. They are very active fish. They would need at least a 20 long. Plus, if you want decent-sized schools, it would put you very close to over your stocking range. Have you researched danios and their temperature and water chemistry requirements? You'll need to find a cory that is compatible with those, and also stays very small. Most can grow to two or three inches, and that would be too large in this setup. Since you're not really asking a question here, merely stating your intentions, I realize that you may not want advice. But there it is.

look into dwarf gouramis maybe . . .

I would argue against this due to the illness that most of these gouramies carry. Very few of the dwarf gouramies brought into the U.S. survive, and in the small volume he has, it would have even less of a chance.

Info on this disease can be found here:

Danios are Fine in a 10 gallon. I've seen thriving, happy specimens in a 5, though that isn't reccommended. As a centerpiece, I would recommend maybe either a honey gourami or a molly of some sort.

L021 i agree, Onemoretank imo the danios will be fine. They are not large enough to need a large tank although i do know they are active. And the gouramis will be fine. Thats why the gaurantee 14 days at most LFS. Yes there is a risk of illnesses but so r there with all fish you buy. Just get about 4 danios and a nice dwarf gourami such as a powder blue one. Goodluck!
