I just got my 10 gallon setup and am starting a fishless cycle. I was woundering what kind of cory or bottom dweller cleaning fish can I get that do not have to be me than one. All I have found says that small corys need to be in schools and I do not want them to take to much room because I want dwarf gouramis and maybe some angle fish.
Would they all get along together with maybe a fancy guppy added in also.
thanks

they shouldnt take up much room if you get about 5-6, because they are bottom feeders and none of the other fish you want are bottom fish so they wouldnt take up other room. im not sure how to explain but the other fish are top swimmers or middle swimmers so the bottom feeders dont take up any room where the otehr fish are swimming mostly

I understand I just do not want to overstock and have to worry about to much ammonia. I know they may still have room. I am not sure about the ammonia problem. I hear that you are suppose to only have 1 inch of fish per gallon.
thanks I know it maybe hard to explain this all to me.

A 10 gallon tank isn't big enough for a school of cories. It isn't big enough for a Dwarf Gourami or an Angel. It definetly isn't big enough for a mixture of all 3.

Research your fish choices while you're cycling. It'll make it easier on you and the fish.

The tank will be too small for Angels. And the Angels would go after the Fancy Guppy's fins. Cories do better in groups. If you don't want a group of cories, get an Otocinclus for a bottom feeder I had one at work that I had some Ghost Cats, Neon Tetras, Female Bettas, and a couple of Otocinclus. It'll also do a great job of keeping algae away.

How big a tank would I need to have two dwarf gouramis and along with some smaller other fish. I have wanted dwarf gouramis for a long time.
thanks

10g would be ok for a pair.
20g is always better.
30g would get you a decent group of them.

Stick with one dwarf gourami for a 10g.that and a few guppies would be nice.if you really want cories there are a few dwarf species or a trio of kuhli loaches

i think you would be good if you only put one dwarf gourami in and then maybe same smaller fish
