Get some cory cats for it no matter what you do.

chicks dig pretty fish. don't get a black fish. get some male guppies (assorted colours), or a betta. some cardinal tetras are bound to go over well. they are so pretty, that when they were first imported, a pair would sell for the average month's pay (at the time)

black skirt tetras may be hardy, but they are way less pretty than other fish.

p.s. what about ram cichlids?

Guppies, shrimp (ghost, crs, bee,....) And stuff it with plants and wood. That is what I run in my 10....I also have a group of black skirts (that I bought for my wife) in a 20 and they are fun to watch.

I have black skirts at home and work in 10s, they are nice. If you get a cheap kit with teh 2 incandescent bulbs you can get replacements that are flourescent at wally world for $5/e, giving you 2w/gal. Add a couple of peppered corys and you'll be set

Another nice combo is a nice betta and corys, esp. in a planted tank.

Longfin zebra danios and Male guppies, and the skirts would be and easy tank. And you could add the betta too! And planting them makes everything so much cooler.
