Some of you may have seen my other post where I started a tank and then I ended up tearing it down to build a new one. So I worked a few hours in my basement today and this is what I got done.

The electrical outlet where the hole is in the wall was relocated to the other side of the wall (next room) and filled with insulation.

I used an excessive amount of screws, nails, and Titebond II wood glue. I know it's over kill but I wanted this thing to be heavy duty.

I am not sure if I am going with glass or acrylic yet. The window will be 86"x 30". I would like to have the top of the tank with no bracing going across so it's just glass. Water is only going to cover the glass 25" because I am not filling it up to the top.

It's the cement floor, and then that is a layer of padding that is used to protect furniture when it's being moved. It's 1/2" thick. I am going to put carpet padding on top of that and then the foam insulation on top of that.
