I'm planning on cleaning my whole tank tomorrow when I get home... As in starting the tank all over again... Any advice for me guys? I'll put in my new Big drift wood... Advice please?

I did a big cleaning on my small tank yesterday. I just took a wash cloth and wiped everything down as much as possible. The spray bars, intake tubes, glass, and everything else I could find. Then I did a 50% water change / gravel vac. It only took about 30 minutes but it came out really nice.

No, she stayed in the tank. Since the water level never went below 50% there was no reason to remove her.

What I'm planning is I will clean it up to the UGF as well as the gravel... is it necessary to take the gravel out of the tank?

you dont want to clean the gravel too well or you will mess up your bacteria. I would just vaccuum it really well and do a 50 % water change. I usually take a papertowel and fold it up and clean my inside glass then windex the outside.

It is safer to use vinegar mixed in with some water to clean the outside of the tank. You don't want to risk getting the windex in the tank.

yeah definately dont spray windex around your tank, I usually spray a paper towel slightly in another room then wipe it down, vinegar and water is a good idea too. I wouldnt worry about cleaning the UGF unless you had a second filter Like a sponge that was mature. Cycling your tank all over is a major pain. I myself hate gravel but I have used it for years.
