I have a couple questions. Is it normal for a 100 gallon tank to not have the braces that are on the top part of the tank that go from front to back. My second question is how thick is the glass normally on a 100G tank.

The braces normally are on there. They should be. Is it a used tank?
And the glass should be around 1/3 to 1/4th of an inch thick

If they aren't there and the glass is super thick, this might be an older 100. What are the dimensions and how thick is the glass?

I believe they used to overbuild tanks and not use center bracing at the top. If the glass is that thick, it's probably one of those

So basicly they started building tanks with the center braces to save on money is basicly what your saying? Also do you know where i would be able to have another bottom molding that goes around it replaced as the one side cracked and is off.

And no didn't want to go really any taller. I have Mainly african cichlids so isn't to much of a problem for height
