So it's now been confirmed that the tanks I want are going 1/2 off on Black Friday so I'll be getting a 125 and a 150 gallon tank in 17 days! So excited but I want to make sure I cover all my bases.

First off, the stock list. Here's the plans, let me know what y'all think!

150 gallon:
- 1 x red severum
- 1 x rotkeil severum
- 4 x red humped geophagus (1 male, 3 female)
- 6 x Denison barbs
- 10-20 x schooling tetras (unsure on type, open to recommendations!)
- 1 x albino bristle nose pleco

125 gallon:
- 8-12 x amphilophus lyonsi juvies (going for a pair)
- 3 x silver dollars

Planning on doing the 150 with pool filter sand substrate and lots of drift wood. Any tips on cleaning both the sand and wild wood? Would like to not have to pay a load at my LFS for the wood.

Anyways, that's all I can think of right now but I'm super excited! Can't wait to get pics up for everyone.

I'd do about 6 silver dollars in the 125 and go for 5-6 plecos in the 150 if you are going for bristlenose. Just what I would do.

your schooling tetras in the 150 could be silvers as well

of course if you do not want silver dollars in the 150 you could go for bleeding heart tetras

Get tiger silver dollars for the 125 they don't get as large from what I've seen

Ya that's why I only had 3 on my list, thought they got pretty big. I like tigers but any time I've seen them they're a pretty penny. Was considering scats as I've seen them in fresh tanks but I'm not sure I really want to put them through that...

I would keep a close eye on the red humps when you get them.Males can be extremely aggressive towards females once they reach maturity. They often kill females and can become a real pain. There are lots of other geos that are less problematic.

Thought they were more aggressive towards other males. Hence the 1-3 combo. I'll look more into it but my water is on the harder side so I'm some what limited.

Tank bred altifrons do well in harder water and are less aggressive in groups.

Congrats on the tanks something to keep in mind though silver dollars do better in a group i would get 5 or 6. I had a group of tigers and they dont get as big as regular red hooks but sd's are eating machines. It was so bad that i would have to over feed so the other fish could get there share. I ended up rehoming them....hated those things

That sounds like a pain >.< maybe I'll have to keep poking around for other dither fish for the lyonsi then. Really wish I liked giant danios because that would make everything really easy =P
