some of you might of known that i got a 6ft long, 100gallon tank...i had another thread but i needed to start a new one... (dont ask there are many reasons.. well ive made alot of progress since i started my other thread and i thought you might like to see it! http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=284442

ok well here is my current status
1. tank is leaking, so i need to go buy some silicone
2. i still need gravel
3. i moght go and buy a ac110 because my pump on my sump is only 580gph and thats only 5.8 turnover rate!
ok... ill post some pics later today... maybe! LOLZ i still have buy 3 UVB bulbs for the tank (hence the turtles)... i still have to buy like 120dollars worth of stuff!

well.. thanks for reading my thread

tank is still leaking and i havent even gotten the silicone for it yet. im think, scince turtles produce TONS of watse(same as bluegills), that i will go over kill with filtration.. i will have 3 filters on this baby...

1.my sump= 600gph
2. ac110= 500gph
3. rena xp2= 280gph
TOTAL GPH= 1380gph

Good deal on the filtration. The more you front-load your effort and expense, the less pain in the butt it will be later for you. Massive waste is the very reason I don't do turtles anymore (I did have a couple of box turtles for several years back in the day, but they just poop too much and need their shells conditioned and all that).

Well, for the money that's the best combination anyway.

Thats still 10x turnover per hour... Also, there are cheaper canisters if its not gonna be the only filter on that tank.
If the tank is that long, maybe dual AC50's or AC70's would be better than a single AC110. It gives more flexibility with media combinations, more even flow/filtration on both ends of the tank & allows you to stagger your filter cleaning days. EDIT: media is cheaper, too.

i just started sealing the tank today (i went and got AGA seleant) and sealed it up today. now i must wait 48 hours! :( Is it ok if i just put the new silicone right on top of the old one? i did put it on very thick!

Silicone does not adhere well to cured silicone but give it a shot, I personally would take out all the silicone and make a nice; clean look with the new silicone. I just did as a matter of fact, i am waiting until Thursday to fill this baby up.
