I could not wait, i filled my tank up today 8). Silicone worked great. I used GE silcone II btw. The one with no bio-seal and i used black. Hows yours holding up?

im filling it up bit by bit so i can moniter where the leak is coming from (if there is still one). i had it 1/3 filled last night and there was no leaks. hopfully when i go down this morning i dont see water all over the florr. i dont think there will be though.

thanks... ive got it half way now. it looks like it will hold. next thing on my list is to get

petco brand filter for 20gall, x2 ~$40
moe media for my sump ~$10
3 UVB bulbs ~$65
more gravel ~$30
and then i need to cycle it! ~$priceless$

ugh i still need around $$90-135

i only have one filter on the tank. (the 500gph sump) which is not good because when everything grows up this tank will be super heavily stocked! so im going to go get more media for the sump and get 2 175gph HOB's either today or tomorrow! here is my shopping list (lol. all on a budget of 100 bucks)

underlined= will be getting
not underlined= maybe getting
bolded= if i have enough money ill get it!

1. AC110 foam blocks x3 (for the sump)
2. fluval foam blocks x 3-6 (for the HOB's)
3. "petco power filters 175 gph (i have to get cheapo brands because of my budget) im not using their media (to expensive) ill use the fluval foam because its washable!
4. ammo-carb
5. hikari chichlid pellets (its good for the turtles)
6. 3 uvb bulbs!!

here are some pics... the tank is all sealed up and is filled with water. i still have problems with the sump and i wont get it up and running for another 2 weeks or so! anyhow here are the pics. LOLZ i put up a pic of one of the blue gills!

cool glad you got it fixed. What is the sump problem ?

it was something with the siphon, but i got it fixed today and i also went up to petco and got 2 175gph HOB's!!! now i have 900gph total! im happy now because i now have a bigger turnover rate (9x), a 5x wasnt enough because it will be heavily stocked!! i wont use the cartridges for the HOBS ill use modified stuff! heres a list of what i bought today!

2 175gph HOB's
2 bulk packages of filter wool
2 packages of fluval foam blocks
a carton of carbon
HIKARI chichlid pellets (very good for the turtles)

hers a list of the media in the filters!

sump
1st layer= sponge
2nd layer=460 cut up straws (BIO)
3rd layer= more straw
4th later= more sponge
then it passes by a small submersible heat, then it goes to the pump
1st 175 HOB
fluval blocks (possibly some carbon
2nd 175 HOB
same as 1st
