it's a very rare color morph that results in a completely golden fish. Can happen to virtually any fish species.
Thanks gang. I feed him massivore and algae wafers like the rest of my fishes. Do normal water changes and temp. Is about 87-89. My water friends are in a custom plywood/glass 160g with 2 ac110s and fx5. Got a regular light on top that's always on. It's cool watching him shed his old colors to the gold sheen
I'm not sure of his history. I bought him when he was about 12". At that time he looked like a nice spangled bahia kelberi. He was in a tank of dark green water from the previous owner. about a year passed and this transformation is occurring..
