108 Tank Stand

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Here a a couple of new pics. I am going to cover it tomorrow. It might look a little overboard and ugly, but its the first stand I have built. I am learning as I go.

Thanks for the help folks.

looks beefy, not ugly...take your time skining, trimming and paint / staining...that'a what counts now

I was hoping to get it all covered today, didn't workout that way. The wife suggested I use pin wick pine to cover it for 3 reasons.

1. Its cheap.
2. It looks good
3. She could be a widow if I spend too much money.

So pine it is.

It's covered, I have made 2 doors so far. 1/4" pine held together with 1"x2" strapping. I am going to put some trim on the door face, not sure what yet. Then I will trim the stand. Then it will be time to start the canopy.

Finished the trim today. Trim here is very expensive, Example: 1" corner molding $22 for a 8' length. I cut a piece of the pine, I used to cover the stand to 3/4" for the bottom trim and 2.5" for the top trim. This saved me about $50. Still looks ok.
