108 watts enough for a 55 gallon low light planted tank?

What bulbs are you useing? spectrum can make a big difference as well. and your doseing? do you use any fert tabs at all?

The bulbs I am using now are the T8 plant lights from walmart. The ones I would buy are 6700k. I have about 15 flourish tabs in the sand.

Also if I do go to higher output lights and decide to go to CO2 (just tell my wife I HAD to do it) what is the least expensive way to go with a real tank of CO2 and all that keeping in mind I can DIY and put the pieces together myself.

Flourish is a rough way to go with a larger tank. Dry ferts would save you a bundle in the long run.

Yeah especially since we have all those fertilizer salts at school that are not used for anything so I can get them for free to boot.
