10g not quite a monster stand

My office has been moved. Much less room & I am sharing now. The 55g tank came home & I only have room for a 10 (wow thats huge!)

I have ho stand for a 10 so I need to build. I sketched some pictures on a note pad & my new office mate threw it into sketch-up.

The top section is for power items...
6 inches high
Power Strip
Air Pump
All the cords for light, filter & heater.
the door will flip down (or up) for access

The middle section ....
8 inches high
Food
Spare filter media
Chemicals
Net
Mag-Float
(misc stuff)
Doors will swing from center

Bottom section...
13 inches high
Binders with info I need for work..

I will likely be making a canopy as well, but not this weekend..

The height will be about 35 inches to the tank bottom.

The entire weight will be supported by the edges of the tank resting on the sides of the stand, framed for alignment.

All I need now is decent weather in the garage this weekend..

I will post detailed pics, measurements, and everything that goes wrong.

Then we can chat about monsters that wont out grow a 10g.

That will be determined at the Home Depot..

I just went through my stash in the garage & there is not enough of anything to do the whole stand..

I am thinking it won't be complete this weekend, unless I use plywood. cause If I use lumber, I will need to edge glue it.. I thought I had enough pre-fab butchers block for the sides, but I don't..

Thats OK, my daughters favorite store is HD, so she can help deciede...

go for meranti as your timber, looks soo good varnished or oiled.

I have an actual office too. I never had a fish tank in the car silly....
Dang it would suck to have a smaller car, there is so much in there.
