10g tank for a convict?

babies are about 1/4" to 3/16" and will be goin into a seperate 10gallon soon.

My brother in law has this 10 g tank and he insists on getting a cichlid for it.....

Just shut him down - I wouldn't even keep Apistogramma or Rams, or anything other than fry for that matter in anything smaller than a 20G.

They seem happy

well he got a breeding pair 2inches each...but in a couple of months he is goin to upgrade to a 20g long.....Im gonna feed their babies to my green terror....thnks for the posts!

I would say 1 year for a female or about 6-9 months for a male. I have one in a 10 gallon, it has more than enough room(it's only about 1"). It will probably stay in there for another fews months at least before it gets moved...
